Six-week studio practice sessions, for artists who have some experience of oil painting and would like to continue their development with the support and guidance of a tutor. Attendees will work on projects of their choice, and will be supported by a tutor throughout the sessions. Class size is small so plenty of one to one support will be available.

There will not be structured teaching in these lessons, to allow students to work at their own pace, but help will be given with anything that they wish to discuss or learn about - for example colour theory, composition, application of paint etc.

These studio practice sessions are perfect for anyone who has attended any of my previous short courses or day workshops and would like to continue to practise painting but in a sociable environment, with a chance to ask questions and gain assistance. Sometimes the hardest part of painting is having the uninterrupted time carved out for your practise, so this six-week block of studio sessions will give you the time and space you need to continue your development as a painter.

You can choose to bring all your equipment, or have all materials and equipment provided.

The Details

We will be working from my own art studio, in the Aboyne Castle Business Centre. Directions will be sent out in an email nearer the time. 

Date: Studio Practice runs on Monday evenings, starting on March 17th. The studio will be available from 7pm - 9.30pm (you can turn up for the whole 2.5hr or a shorter timeframe within that, according to what you need) from 18th March - 29th April (please note no class on 24th March)

Price: varies depending on whether you would like to bring your own equipment (£75) or have all oil painting materials and equipment supplied (£85).
