Six-week short course covering the fundamentals of oil painting in a small group.

We will be exploring principles of painting such as colour theory and composition as well as techniques and methods which are specific to oil painting such as glazing, working ‘alla prima’ vs layered painting and the use of mediums. We will be painting a wide variety of subjects.

This short course is suitable for beginners or those who have a little experience in other mediums. All materials are provided so it is an excellent opportunity to have a go at oil painting before purchasing your own equipment.

The Details

We will be working from my own art studio, in the Aboyne Castle Business Centre. Directions will be sent out in an email nearer the time. 

Date: Course runs on Tuesday mornings 9.30-11.30am, from 18th March - 29th April (please note no class on 25th March)

Price: £115, which includes all painting materials and equipment.

What to bring:

• Old clothes or an apron.
  Materials will be provided but you may wish to bring extra brushes if you have them, and a table easel if you prefer working at an easel. If you have any of your own equipment and would prefer to use it, please feel free to bring it.
